Fall Clean Up

Leaf Removal

Dry, crushed leaves actually help add nutrients to your soil. This can be done by mowing the leaves and letting the chopped pieces help the soil. Wet leaves can actually smother your lawn. Grass needs to breathe in order to survive. This means that your lawn would have to be raked or mowed to loosen or remove the wet leaves. We blow the leaves and debris out of planters, eave troughs, window wells, etc; for a clean appearance.

We will also prepare your lawn for winter by providing:

Aeration

Aerating is the process of using a mechanical core or plug aerator to pull up a core of soil and leave it on the surface. Theses holes allow for air, rain and nutrients to penetrate the soil better. It also gives the roots room to grow. The soil cores left on the surface will dissolve over a few weeks. The soil in the cores contains microorganisms that help digest thatch naturally, creating a healthier lawn.

Your lawn will have the following benefits:

Overseeding

Overseeding is the process of planting grass seed directly into existing turf, without tearing up the turf or the soil. This helps fill in bare spots, improve turf density, and enhance your lawn's color. If your lawn is old or worn out and needs more water than usual, you should overseed your lawn. Overseeding reduces the amount of fertilizer, water and pesticides required. This helps your lawn stay greener, healthier, and thicker.

After overseeding, be sure to immediately water heavily to wash grass seeds into the slits. The following 10-14 days make sure you water lightly on a daily basis. After germination, water less frequently, but use heavy soaking and penetration into the soil to help with deeper root growth. Once your lawn has reached its full growth, water regularly to keep your lawn quenched and healthy.
